Does what its supposed to do
A cheap cooler pad, does what its supposed to do. I gave it four stars cause the wiring is too cheap and can break easily. Spending a few cents on sealing the wiring properly could have made this a better product.

Works fine for now. I had the exact model before, but one of the fans died, than another. I've had several of these kinds of cool pads. For under .00 you extend the performance and the life of a notebook computer by years. Using temp monitors you can see big differences when it is used. Add manuel control to the internal fans and you keep clock performance up with temps in a much lower range. This is a must have for anyone with a notebook computer.
Get a cookie sheet to put under it unless you like shredded lap, or enjoy that sort of thing. The bottom is not comfortable to place on your lap. On a table it will suck up paper into the fans or anything light.

Metal Cooling Pad
I did alot of research on these units before deciding on this one. They were a new type of item to me so I really didn't know what to look for but I figured if it was made from a lightweight material like metal it would be better. Now that I've had it for a while I probably wouldn't buy it again. I have an HP Pavilion with a 15.4 inch screen and this unit is just a little too small for it.
My likes is that its made of metal, elevated in the rear and comes with an on/off switch, also the price is a steal especially if you have Amazon Prime. My dislikes: too small for my laptop, exposed wiring underneath, and the USB cord is just a little too long. You must handle with care otherwise you're going to probably tear a wire loose.
My final thought if you're in the market would be to spend a little more and go with bigger fans and I feel that the type of material the pad is made from is irrelevent as long as the fans can do the job.

Does the job, but is dismally designed
Yes. This unit keeps notebooks cool and the fans are very quiet. But that's all the positives I can state for this product.

If you like having the laptop on your LAP (where else) this unit is dismal. The bottom and the fans are exposed and sharp edges make you want to avoid using the fan in the first place. My laptop (a ThinkPad T61, is not a good fit on the surface of this unit. The shallow lip on the front is not effective at keeping the laptop from sliding forward.

Good quality fans, poor product design.

I am soooo satisfied with this cooler, I even recommended it to my friend and she liked it too. My laptop used to become extremely hot but this cooler is Cooling down it and the price is good. it's a little noisy but doesn't bother me at all.
